PALACE ON WHEELS TOUR

Palace on Wheels is a royal journey of time on moving wheels. A marvellous and memorable tour of this luxury train will take you to the era of Royal Rajput's and their grand living style. The seven nights and eight days journey of this train starts on every Wednesday at 1800 hours from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station and ends on the following Wednesday early morning at 0730 hrs. The royal voyage of this train take you to the tour of Jaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra to and from Delhi.

As the name suggests "Palace on Wheels" it's not only a train but a palace itself. There are 14 saloons on this moving wonder, each have two twin bedded and two double bedded chambers with attached bath, shower along with all other amenities, 2 1 bar cum lounge, restaurant cum kitchen cars and 4 service cars. Passengers can watch the city from the windows, sit together and enjoy a cup of coffee at the seating lounge outside the bedrooms. Maharaja and Maharani are 02 restaurant cars where one can enjoy different delicious cuisines. Passengers have choices of Indian, Rajasthani, continental and even they can enjoy Chinese also.

Japur, Jodhpur, Alwar, Bundi, Kota, Jhalawar, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Jaisalmer, Sirohi, Bikaner, Udaipur and Kishangarh are the names of different 14 saloons. The given names of the saloons are based on the princely state of Rajasthan. Each cabin is decorated with a unique style and reflects the touch and feel of the state through its style of decoration, furniture, painting and handicraft. A personal attendant or Khidmatgar would be at every Saloon to help and assist you for any requirement.

In this royal journey you get to see palaces and forts, temple and ancient monuments, desert sand, colourful people and some of India's unique wildlife. This is a magical journey of lifetime. You will be treated and feel like a king through out this awesome journey. Royal history of Rajasthan became alive when it comes to travel by Palace on Wheels.

  • DAY 01 : Wednesday - Arrival at New Delhi

    Warm Namaste from Plan Our Travel's representative at the Airport and transfer directly to Safdarjung Railway Station to board you on one of the India's elegant trains Palace on Wheels.

    Your magical ride will start from here. At Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station you will be welcomed with heartfelt traditional hospitality by the staffs of the train. The week-long journey is full of fun and entertainment. You will spend every single day and night in a most luxury lifestyle.

  • DAY 02 : Thursday - Jaipur

    On the second day, you will be at Pink City – Jaipur which is the capital of Rajasthan. The city is among the well-planned cities of the world of its time. Colourful city was founded by famous Maharaja Sawai Jai Sing II in the period of 1727 A.D. Every nook and corner of the wall city is amazing.

    Travel in and around the city in an air-conditioned coach comfortably. Explore and discover the erstwhile history and rich cultural heritage of the colourful Rajasthan. First you will visit HAWA MAHAL which is also known as the Palace of Winds and one of the historical monuments located in the main street. The entire structural buildings have five storied and every storied feature magnificent painting and skilfully carved windows and doors. Visit and discover why the palace is so famous. Next, visit to Amber Fort will surely hypnotize your attention. The fort is one of UNESCO SIX HILL FORTS and you can enjoy elephant ride here. From the fort enjoy the view of Jaipur. After visit, enjoy lip-smacking lunch at Five Star Hotel and relax for a few minutes. And, then visit to City Palace Museum and observatory.

    Arrival at 03.45 AM and Departure at 08:00 PM

  • DAY 03 : Friday - Sawai Madhopur

    On the third day, you will be at Sawai Madhopur. In the district of Sawai Madhopur you will experience wildlife tour. Life becomes wilderness in the destination. The region was founded by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I and named after him.

    Enjoy morning breakfast, dress-up and get ready to visit Ranthambore National Park which is India's most famous Tiger Reserve Centre. For its dense forest and rich in exotic flora as well as flora; it is regarded as India's best wildlife habitat centre for observing, photographing and discovering the wildness activities of the Tiger. The entire wildlife Sanctuary is covered with different types of woods and other vegetation. In the complex, there is also a ruined fort constructed during the period of 10th Century. Wild animals namely Tiger, Leopard, Jackal, Fox and Hyne are running freely in the complex. You can also observe more that 300 colourful bird species. The total area covered by the national park is 392 square kilometres and you can explore through Jeep Safari.

    After visit, you can go for shopping in local market. Market is famous for toys, readymade costumes and other ethnic ornaments. Now, the time comes to say bye-bye to Sawai Madhopur and drive towards the next stop-over of Palace on Wheels journey – Chittorgarh. En-route watch the beautiful country-side from your window.
    Arrival at 05.30 A.M and Departure at 10.20 A.M

    Chittorgarh

    On the same day, you are going to explore the city of Chittorgarh. In the city your Palace on Wheels tour will become more enjoyable. After mouth-watering lunch, dress-up for visit to one of the largest forts, that is, Chittorgarh Fort will make your tour an exceptional experience. In erstwhile era, it was constructed with elegant architecture design and listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Discover all the structural buildings located in the complex.

    After visit, back to the Palace-On-Wheels and take rest. Now, get ready for onward journey to Udaipur.
    Arrival at 04:00 P.M and Departure at 02:00 A.M (next day i.e. on Saturday)

  • DAY 04 : Saturday - Udaipur

    On the fourth day, you will be at beautiful Udaipur. Udaipur is also called as the Lake City. It was established by popular Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty. The famous places of tourist interest you will visit in the romantic city are Jag Niwas which is also called as Lake Palace and the Jag Mandir. Both the palaces are constructed of White Marble and their designs grab the attention of tourists. In the city, have lip-smacking lunch in Five Star Luxury Hotel located at City Palace. Arrival at 08:00 AM and Departure 03:30 PM

  • DAY 05 : Sunday - Jaisalmer

    On the fifth day of your Palace on Wheels holiday, you will be at Jaisalmer. The desert district was founded in the year 1156 A.D by Rawal Jaisal. Visit Jaisalmer Fort – the magnificent fort constructed thoroughly with Yellow Sandstone. Other gorgeous monuments in the city are Havelis. Havelis are elegantly constructed and painted colourfully. Discover some havelis namely Patwon-ki-haveli, Salim Singh-ki-haveli and Nathmalji-ki-haveli.

    Never forget to go for shopping because in the city available varieties of fine pattu shawls, wooden boxes, jewelleries, mirror work and colourfully embroidered articles, silver ornaments and trinkets.

    After tasty lunch on board, ready to enjoy entertaining CAMEL RIDE on the incredible Sam Sand Dunes. Enjoy to the fullest and discover the exceptional beauty of desert land through ride. To relax, enjoy dinner at Five Star Hotel. Here you will get a chance to observe varieties of Cultural Programme.

  • DAY 06 : Monday - Jodhpur

    On the sixth day, you will be at Jodhpur. The city of Jodhpur is famous as Blue City because of its multiple blue colour buildings. The entire city is encircled by massive wall in all directions with seven gates and seven bastions. The land was founded by famous Rao Jodha in the year 1459 A.D.

    Here you will visit MEHRANGARH FORT which is the prominent tourist location. Discover sites namely Daulat Khana, Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal and Sileh Khana in the fort complex.

    Around the fort there are also many structural buildings constructed of White Marble. You will also visit Jaswant Thada. Shopping in Jodhpur is awesome experience. Handloom and Handicraft items are available. Products famous in the markets are Metal Curios, Breeches, Paintings and Embroidered Shoes.

    Arrival at 07.00 AM and Departure at 04:30 PM

  • DAY 07 : Bharatpur / Agra

    Bharatpur

    On the seventh day, you will be at Bharatpur. Lovely Bharatpur is the capital of Suraj Mal. Enjoy morning breakfast in one of the Palace on Wheels restaurants. Relax for a few minutes and get ready to visit one of the world famous bird watching centres – Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary which is also renowned as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. The bird sanctuary is home to varieties of domestic and migratory bird species.

    Arrival at 05.00 AM and Departure at 08:45 PM

    Agra

    On the same day, you will reach one of the dream destinations for every voyager, that is, Agra. On the arrival at Agra, first you will visit Agra Fort and after lunch you will discover the beauty of TAJ MAHAL. This one of the Seven Wonders of the World Taj Mahal is symbol of endless love of Mumtaz Mahal and Shaha Jahan. Visit and discover the speechless beauty of Taj.

    Like other stop-over of the Palace on Wheels you can also enjoy shopping in the city of Agra. Arrival t 10:00 AM and Departure 07:30 PM

  • DAY 08 : Wednesday - Delhi

    On the eight day which is the last day of your Palace on Wheels tour. In the morning, arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station and at the platform our representative will be waiting for you. Arrival at 07.30 AM, our well-speaking and friendly tour representative ready to take your for Delhi Sightseeing.

The tariff is inclusive of cost of travel, accommodation, all meals, sightseeing tours, entrance fee (excluding video camera fee) for monuments & palaces and entertainment.

Tariff does not include liquor, laundry and other items of personal nature.

Tariff is inclusive of travel/ catering/ conducted sightseeing/ entrance fee at monuments/ parks/ palaces/ cultural programs/ camel ride at Jaisalmer/ boat ride at Udaipur/ rickshaw ride at Bharatpur/Complimentary Delhi HDSS Tour.

The Tariff does not include:

Drinks, tips, laundry, telephone calls, video camera fees, Business Car Facilities, liquor and other items of personal nature, increase on rates.

Booking Policy

30% of ticket value at the time of confirming the booking.

Remaining 70% of ticket value 65 days prior to departure along with naming list.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation must be advised by Fax/E-mail/Letter. On cancellation, refund will be made. Certain amount of the ticket value will be deducted as follows.

8% of ticket value 55 days or more prior to departure.

25% of ticket value between 54 to 30 days prior to departure.

100% of ticket value between less than 30 days prior to departure.

Note:
# No Show - In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.

# En route termination of tour - In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.

# Amendment - Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem's (this needs to be supported by doctor's certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case will be decided on merits on a case to case basis. No amendment will be permissible in case of booking of groups or complete train.
